HI, I’M BERNADETTE

Welcome! I created this space to give you resources to help you learn how to play music. I have a bachelor’s degree in music and a master’s degree in education. I started my YouTube channel, Bernadette Teaches Music, while I was teaching music at an elementary school in Okinawa, Japan.

Even though I have a background in saxophone, I started to teach ukulele because I loved how easy it was for beginners to enter the world of music through this joyful instrument.

If you’d like to attend my live lessons via zoom, join my patreon community here.

This blog is jam-packed with tutorials, links, and articles that are perfect for introducing new musicians to the world of music, and for helping intermediate players break through those pesky plateaus. So whether you’re just starting out or you’ve been playing for a while, there’s something here for you. Happy learning!
